Language, Reality and the Trivium Method

“Language” is latent within us all, through existing in reality where we develop references to reality, for interactivity, and the expression of ourselves and reality to ourselves and to others. Although, etymologically it is a word derived from the Latin lingua, French langue, the tongue, as the strongest source of expressing language since it contains emotions, tones, attitude, and more verbal expressiveness. In this capacity, human animals are the most advanced at using and developing language on this planet that we are aware of, as of yet..

Written forms of language do not have the depth of expression that verbal forms do. Externalized language is the expressive capacity of thought about reality, conveyed through symbolic references. The symbols that are developed have meaning and definition with respect to reality and self knowledge, perceived and conceptualized in consciousness and then expressed in specific symbolic ways: body signs, verbally, pictographs, abstract characters (or more?). The purpose of language is communication about reality to reach a common ground of understanding about where we are and how to move forward. Before an external language is made, we communicate with ourselves internally in some way to develop an understanding of reality. Then we try to externalize this understanding through externalized language, such as body language, verbalization, writing, images, etc.

We receive input-knowledge-grammar from reality. This in turn is selectively processed with conscious will using logic to develop understanding of reality, while some input reaches the subconscious/unconscious level at all times for non-immediate awareness. This allows us to output into the world in the wisdom of right-action derived from a proper understanding of reality. If objective reality is not your source input, then you imagine your subjective reality as your own source input and you create your own unreality. As such, it is impossible to output effectively in objective reality if your input in not from objective reality. The primacy of existence is the foundation for reality and the subsequent knowledge we can grasp from it.

A sign someone gives you, is a signal. A sign is a symbol. All expressions of symbols are based in an understanding of the primacy of existence. Data collection (grammar-input) and interaction with the environment happens even before we develop enough to process more fully. To remember our previous youth and actions taken, and think about ourselves as a self, develops later. Data collection input leads to basic knowledge. Knowledge of reality is acquired through objects in reality, or symbols that reference aspects of reality. This is what develops our internal capacity to operate within reality, as we acquire more understanding of reality though input of reality. This internal development of understanding reality, is the basis for our development of languages that represent an externalization of the internalized perceptual and conceptual aspects of the external world. The knowledge of reality starts from the external existence, goes into the internal consciousness, and then back out as an external symbolic reference to the external existence or our internal self-knowledge. Input, processing, output. This is the trivium method in reality.
